Step into Hope:Connect, Learn, Empower

A one-day event featuring a series of dialogues and panel discussions aimed at equipping participants with a comprehensive understanding of the current refugee situation in Indonesia. The event also sought to promote youth empowerment for broader societal impact. It brought together fourteen uucommunities and eighty participants. Post-event feedback indicated that over ninety percent of attendees demonstrated a strong level of awareness and a positive outlook toward the refugee community, while expressing their willingness to contribute.

Bond Beyond Borders in Partnership with Universitas Kristen Indonesia:

A one-day event that brought together members of the refugee community and Indonesian students to foster cultural exchange, empathy, and tolerance through activities such as Cultural Bingo, sharing sessions, and Musical Chairs. Ayat, a refugee participant from Myanmar, enthusiastically shared with the Bridges for Hope team that his two-hour journey to attend Bond Beyond Borders was worthwhile. He described the event as a meaningful platform for bridging refugees like himself with Indonesians and others alike. “There is so much to gain from attending an event like this and learning from one another. I participated in the activities and saw showcases of different cultures. I felt welcomed and was interested in sharing a poem.” he shared.

World Refugee Day 2026

A one-day event organized by UNHCR in collaboration with Refu+ure Indonesia, JRS, SUAKA, YCWS, Bridges for Hope, and Islamic Relief Indonesia that attended by 450+ visitors. Held on 20 June 2026 in commemoration of World Refugee Day, the event brought together refugees from various countries for games, performances, an art exhibition, talk shows, and many other activities. Bridges for Hope contributed to the art exhibition, showcasing paintings and photography from the Refugee Creative Learning Program.

Handbuilt Hope Line

Handbuilt Hope is a sustainability pilot under Bridges for Hope’s Refugee Creative Learning Program, transforming refugee-inspired artwork into purposeful products that carry messages of hope and empowerment. Built around the theme of self-improvement and empowerment, the core product line encompasses stationery and journaling, everyday carry, and purposeful wearables. Through digital outreach and collaborative partnerships, Handbuilt Hope also seeks to engage wider communities that value creativity, empowerment, and refugee inclusion.
